Loddiswell - Gardening Volunteers are needed at Hazelwood House, near Loddiswell. Anyone able to contribute some time, occasional hours, days or weekends are very welcome, as well as people prepared to offer longer term involvement. Possibility of having your own allotment on the land also negotiable. Expenses can be paid. Further information is available from Wendy Stayte on 01803 868305.
KINGSBRIDGE - The Tresillian Garden Project got off the ground in 1995 and since 1996 volunteers have been working in the garden which demonstrates and promotes the ideals of environmentally sensitive gardening and land use. The project was officially launched in 1998. The project is always seeking new volunteers of all ages and experience (beginners welcome!) who can help in all areas including practical vegetable growing and small conservation projects and also assisting with the management and administration of the project. SOUTH HAMS - Moor Tress Volunteering Vacancies - The objectives of Moor Trees charity is to encourage and develop the value of Forest Wilderness and to replenish the natural resources of the region, be at the heart of sustainable working of woodland areas and also to involve local communities and schools in their practical and educational work. To enable them to meet this challenge they are currently looking for extra volunteers. All vacancies come with - access to training, supervision and travel expenses and some sundries paid for. Unfortunately there is no wheel chair access to the office itself (which is based in Exeter.). All posts require personal access to a phone and the selection process will be by interview. For the posts the commitment will be for between 1/2 to one day per week on a flexible basis.
