Turning press releases into news
Date: 14 September 2006, 10am - 2pm
Location: Newton Abbot
Cost: £15 members/£25 non-members
This workshop will give you the skills to create press releases which make into the news, not the bin. Learn what journalists are looking for and make your stories stand out from the pile. You will also look at writing in the right style and how to make contacts in the media.

Governance - the basics

Cost: £15 members/£25 non-members
This course will give you a better understanding of your governing document and the role of your committee,including useful tips for better trusteeship. You will also look at the pros and cons of the different legal structures which are available to voluntary groups.

Cost: £15 members/£25 non-members
An introduction to fundraising for those with little or no experience. This workshop will focus on the basic techniques for completing successful funding applications. It will also give you ideas for finding and approaching funders who may be interested in your cause.

Booking Terms and Conditions -
South Hams CVS training continues to offer quality training and support specifically aimed at meeting the needs of the Voluntary and Community Sector within the South Hams. Our aim is to develop the skills, knowledge and experience of individuals within the sector with a flexible approach to training and development.
Unless stated, all courses are charged at - £10 members / £20 non-members.
Cancellation Policy
Your place is confirmed, if available, on receipt of your booking form. Whether payment has been received or not you will be liable for the whole fee (where fees apply) unless we receive written notification 7 days before the event. However you may delegate a colleague to attend in your place rather than forfeit the full course fee.
No refund will be made for bookings cancelled less than 7 days before the event, or non-attendance on the day, except in exceptional circumstances and then only at the discretion of South Hams CVS.
